Possibly has ich?

I just moved Dumbledore to a hospital tank to treat for some fin rot. I was watching him swim and underneath his chin he has little white dots. Almost like a white head or something. He doesn't have these anywhere else on his body, just under his chin. I can't really get a picture of it because it's in a weird place and the camera stresses him out. :\

He's in some aquarium salt right now for fin rot, I know that won't help ich, if he even has it at all. Any suggestions? :(

Get some kind of external parasite remover. I have Maracide, and I know a lot of people swear by Jungle Fungus eliminator.

You think he has a parasite? I don't see anything else on his body though. Just under his chin, like he has whiskers growing.

AQS can help cure Ick since it's an external problem. It's cure acouple of my fish before.

Treat him for 7 to 10 days with it, 1tsp per gallon and he should be okay.

If for some reason the treatment isn't working, it gets worse or if after 10 days he's not better then you can use Maracide, which is for ick and external parasites like tisburylane said.

Jungle Ick Guard is good as well and if it's more of a fuzzy look then just white dots Maroxy is also very good to use, it's for fungus.. Now if it's a parasite and looks like little worms then Maracide is going to work much better, it treats Ick, Velvet and external parasites like the little worms.

Sorry for the double post!

Oh, and the best way to tell if it's ick is to get a bright light, flash lights work best, and shine it on him and look closely.

Ick looks more like this:

Parasites look more similar to this:

But start off with he AQS before using any medications, this will give you time to figure out what's wrong with him and the salt may just kill whatever is growing on him.

Can you get photos?

Unfortunately no. It's underneath his chin, and anytime the camera comes out it really stresses him out. He flares and hauls butt around his tank. Since he ripped his fin in half I try not to make him flare too much until its healed.

Edit: just looked at those pictures and it doesn't look anything like either of those things. It looks like a pimple versus salty look.

Hm.. okay, does it look similar to this?

If not then it could be some other kind of parasite or abscess and can possibly be treated with the AQS.

Nope. It's not textured like cauliflower. It might be just his coloring. I don't know.
