How long to keep cycled tank without fish

After the time consuming process of cycling, I have finally finished cycling my 10 gallon! I'm rather pleased with myself at the moment. My tank is reading 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5 nitrate (ppm). I am planning to go pick up some tetras to add to the tank on thursday (when the petsmart nearby restocks), I am wondering - can the bacteria survive until then? Or should I dose the tank with ammonia until then? I might add a few shrimp sometime tomorrow - should that be okay in keeping the cycle stable?

It will be fine. It can go weeks on end without feeding.

Yes, people tend to underestimate the bacteria. They are pretty hardy little guys.
