decorating divided tanks and saving space

I want my boys in my divided tanks to have as much cover as possible in the form of plants and things. But I started to realize how much trouble all the extra silk/fake plants were when it came to vacuuming the tank. I hated having to bury everything back in the gravel. So I started making my own silk plants out of craft store leaves. Instead of putting them in the gravel, I stuck them through the divider! This saves so much space on the tank floor and it still shelters the fish from each other's view while offering plenty of swimming space.

What do you think? I know that they can easily see each other at the bottom of the divider, but they only seem to flare at each other near the surface and near the glass. I haven't had a problem so far.

Cool, but be warned they are good at making it to the other side.

Great idea! I'm going to steal that idea. Question what it the small piece of mesh on the back of tank for?

It's a craft mesh hammock/tube for sleeping, or just swimming through! All of my guys love them!

I'm really glad I did this with the plants. It saves so much space and eliminates the problem of finding tall enough plants.
