Please Help. I want to do this right!

I just bought this stuff and am pretty clueless as how to use it...if anyone can help that would be awesome! I got the test kit but not sure as to what the levels should be. Also I got filters..they said these were one of the best ones...and AQ salt because i see everyone uses it lol (should I use it for my clamped betta? how much?), brine shrimp for snacks. Here are my two 10 gal tanks with my babies in them already. Planning to do a 100% change tonight and set everything up. I have Prime here already and all the beautiful decor plus heaters and thermometers



This is Mufasa (my first betta) he still needs help unclamping but this is his home. He is very active for seeming sick.



This is Zorro, I just got him about a week ago and he is beautiful and fiesty



at this point my main concern is mufasa because he looks ill although he does not act like it. I got all this stuff for my bettas but still feel like i have no clue what I am doing I just want them to be happy and healthy...So please help!!!

Do you have a heater in the tank yet? I say once you get the heaters in the unclamping should stop. My betta was clamped until he got into his nice warmed tank. He hasn't clamped since I brought him home.

Right now, yes (have not done the water change yet. both tanks are at 79 degrees F)

I would bump it to 80 if you can.

Also I still want to fishnap Zoro. He is so beautiful I love his color. He's like a royal blue version of my fish only Aquaman has a more golden hue to his face and a few pink streaks running through his purple.

ok i will do that. I am also doing the test kit on their current water before doing a change

That's a good idea and after you test the water and do the change you can set up your filters and start cycling. Cycling is both exciting but you also get impatient (especially if you are trying to get shrimp and need the tank to be fully cycled for at least a week before you can get them.)

shrimp??? I have no clue...I will be posting pics of the results in a few...thanks so much for you help

I'm getting shrimp to help me clean up fallen food and just because they are so cute. I want to cherry shrimp with Aquarius. Trying to get something they can hide in that he can't go into though in case he chases them.

Oh, so you keep live shrimp in the tank? What about snail? Do they help?
