hydrogen peroxide on silk plants?

One of my tanks has silk plants and unfortunately also has brown algae, which has stained the plants. Would the hydrogen peroxide effect the color? Has anyone used hydrogen peroxide(3%) on silk plants?

Yeah I'll be cleaning that tank tomorrow so I'll try a little spot test. *fingers crossed*

I tried this with silk plants, it lightens their color and doesn't really do anything.

Dipping them in scalding hot water for a minute and then scrubbing the leaves with your fingers under a faucet would work better :3

I put some in a friends shampoo bottle as a prank. It bleached my friends hair pretty good. It would do the same to silk.

You would no longer be my friend lol

Well I didn't get to try it tonight because I was in a car accident (everyone's ok) but I'll do a little test with it diluted and see. Sounds like just hot water will work best though.

It was payback for another prank done on me. Sad thing is my other friends said it actually made friend look better. I should have got paid. lol This was in college btw over 20 years ago. Kinda lame compared to the frying pan to the face or air horn while sleeping pranks you can find on youtube.

I soaked the silk plants in hot water and scrubbed them but there was still some staining. So I added the hydrogen peroxide and it worked like a charm! All the stains lifted and no color was lost.

Of course I dilluted it, I didn't pour it right on the plants.
