They're bigger than the smallest tetras for which I would recommend a minimum of 10g, but they're also very active swimmers and really appreciate the extra space.

is it possible to put different types of tetras in a single tank and still have the schooling activity?
Ex: putting 6 neon tetras with 6 Glowlight tetras. will they still school together?

Sometimes snails will work with bettas, sometimes not. It depends on the personality of your betta. Sometimes bettas will nip the tentacles, thinking they are little worms or just for sport. Sometimes they will ignore the snails altogether. If you get a snail, be prepared to take it back to the LFS or to rehome it if you see any signs of agression from the betta.
