sorry not sure you probably right. I just really don't know anything about cycling or any other products since i son't have any experience with that. I am really never had problem and never used anything else ....
You fish is active and eating and his tail will heals with clean water. Not sure how big is your tank but i just prefer to do a lot of water changes....
