About three weeks ago I rescued a blind male spade-tailed plakat from Petsmart. He had a few deformed fins, but I wonderful personality. I am so glad I begged my mom to let me take him home :)
However just a week after I brought him home, he got himself stuck in one of the tiny draining holes in a flower pot in his tank. :O He was so firmly stuck that when I lifted the pot out of the water, hoping he would just slip out that you could hear his head and tail flapping against the pot. :'( I had to get my mom to use both hand and pry him out of the pot.... I now realize it was a bad idea to have a flower pot with tiny holes in it in a tank for a blind fish....
His injuries were really bad, the scales on his gill flaps and the top of his body were scraped clean off and bleeding a little. :( The first 1/8 of his anal fin was ripped off too :(.... It really broke my heart to see this little guy like that :(

Now he's almost complete healed! :D

Nice can not wait to see him in a nice tank. I have heard it is easier to build a community tank. I have a Betta with a problem too he is hyper aggressive. He bit me ounce.

I would say since he is blind I wouldn't put any caves in there for him. Just nice silk plants he can't get caught in. A nice warm heater, and I wouldn't even put in a filter, it might frighten him.

He's currently in a 1 gallon tank with a silk a plant. I tried putting him in a ten gallon tank, but he seemed really lost and kept running into stuff... so I decided a 2.5 gallon tank with a few plants would be better for him.

It's best to put a blind betta in a smaller tank, I'm sure it's harder for them to live in a larger tank, even with their other methods of locating things.

Is 2.5 a good size? Because that's the tank I've prepared for him once he's all patched up.
