How do I clean out the tanks? Someone told me white vinegar works? Plus what do I do with my plants? Do they have to go?

I really don't want to give up, but I feel as if the fish dying are my fault.

isn't it warmin up now in the aussielands? I think you can probably plabt them outside now...
I feel really bad too when a fish dies. Heck I felt terrible when I bought. nerite from petco and lost it to the giant gust on the way home..
but the reality is, amongst the petshop consumers...you are one of the few betta owners who knows what ur doing... better for the fishies to be in your hands...

Ohhhh, hahaha!

I was thinking Aokashi had gone mad!

So, is it safe to re-use them? Or not recommend it? And how do you clean the tank with the vinegar?

I'm so sorry Magnum. You gave him an awesome chance at life. Don't give up, bad things happen to good fishkeepers. We can get this sorted out, don't worry.

Thanks Sakura. I moved Spike into his own 1.5 Gallon, which is longer instead of taller. He loves all the wide swimming room.

Do you know how to sterilize the tank?

Very hot water and either vinegar or a diluted bleach solution. If you go with bleach, be sure to rinse and rinse until you no longer smell any bleach at all. Rinse your live plants under tap water that has NOT been dechlorinated.

Cool, went out and bought some vinegar. I'll get to work once this storm stops!
