AQ Salt..help please

can you use aquarium salt when doing water changes for overall health or is aquarium salt only for sick bettas? I wanted to use it for my clamped tail betta.

i just installed his filter in his 10 gal. he has a a heater and thermometer at 81 degrees F. all his water levels are at 0. i wanted to also use AQ salt on my other betta who seems healthy.

If i am able to use it for overall health..how do i use it? please and thank you guys!!!

You only use it for sick Bettas. If you use it more than 10 days, it will start damaging their organs. :\ You need to treat him in a different hospital tank as the AQ Salt will not evaporate or get filtered.

could i use the AQ salt in his current tank for a few days (how many days do you recommend?) and then do a full water change?

He is in his cup right now..and i already put AQ salt in his tank bc i ready somewhere it was ok..i put 2tbsp for the 10 gal...

what should i do?

10 days maximum for AQ Salt. You should never have done that... You can't do a 100% change as the filter's BB will die out and your cycle will have to start over... It's NOT OK to keep it in there 24/7. As I said, the organs will be damaged and the salt will never get out. Just do a 95% change for now.

No problem, It is hard to do anything because there are contradicting directions out there. I just started the filter today (an hour ago) so i'm sure there are no BB formed yet. Can i do the water change? Ugh so frustrating...

Ok I will stop the filter and reinstall it tomorrow after I do the 100% change with conditioner and heater etc.. Thank you so much...

Now my betta has a clamped tail..should I put him in a 1 gal and treat with AQ salt (if AQ salt helps)? He overall looks sick, but is very active.
i heard most common cause of clamped tail is cold water but his temp has been at 78-80 degrees F. Any other possible causes? And what do you recommend?

Good advice from Lebron on the AQ salt.

Just because his tail is a little clamped doesn't mean he's sick, just a little stressed, perhaps. Maybe that's just his normal posture.

If he's active, responsive and eating well, you can't ask for more.

You can try to use Indian Almond Leaf , it can help your betta better, Beacuse IAL will make suitable water condition , Reduce setress for you betta.
