Marimo Balls ?

My daughter wants one or two Marimo balls to put in our 1.5 gal tank that our first betta is living in. (see avatar) I just found out the very small local pet store has some and they are $5.95 since I have never bought any type of plant for a fish tank. can someone tell me if this is a good price? she tends to be a little high price wise on some of her stuff because we are such a small town and so far away from anything. I don't want to pay too much for these.?

My pet store sells them for 10.00 dollars. A1.5 is way to small is it heated.

My LFS sells them for about $7 the corporate stores sell them for about $6 if I'm remembering properly...

Also, I've seen people keep very happy bettas in 1-1.5 gal tanks. As long as they do water changes often enough to keep the ammonia levels down it should be fine...

thanks I guess 5.95 is a fair price then. He is living in the 1.5 gal tank tell we get moved and have a spot for the 3 gal tank. We are doing 50% water changes twice a week. we thought adding a little plant would also help improve his water quality and make him a happier fish.

My local place has 'em for 7.95, and I've even bought a few at that price, so 5.95 sound decent. Just make sure they look happy and healthy and go for it.

At first it sounded like a lot for a plant. we only paid 7 for the betta. But i guess that's a good price. We will go this week and check them out I hope she has some really nice ones. We would like to get 2 of them or depending on how big they are may be divide one.

Even the betta care guide on this forum says two gallons is the minimum.

Honestly, that's a really good price--I've only seen them between 6-10$.

Great price though use the money you save to save for a bigger tank.
