Terror in a 10 gallon!

We just had a HUGE scare! Homegrown terror and I got another new betta today (pics coming soon) and he fixed up the divider in our new 10 gal. Well, first Genghis got to the other side but luckily our newest one, Atilla, was still floating in his cup. We lowered the water level. Then a few minutes later Atilla got to the other side and they were in there together!!! AHHHHH!!! My fiancee walked in to check on them, ran back to our bedroom where I was, looked at me all wide eyed and ran back. I jumped up since I knew what was happening. At first we thought Gengy was gone because he was kind of floating so we separated them as fast as humanly possible. Fortunately, Gengy only suffered a few nips to his caudal fin. He had a nasty stress stripe also but is ok! So my fiancee checked the divider again and made sure it was flush with the sides of the tank. Both fishies ate their dinner ravenously and are fine now, but we were so scared!

That's why I'm too scared to use a divider. :( I'm glad your guys are fine.

i was worried as hell for little Gengy, Atilla is just so much bigger (almost the size of a petco king.) they had actually mislabeled him as a king when he's actually a DS DTHMPK. if they wanna charge us two dollars less because his size fooled them, that's fine by me. the water level is now two inches below the divider and the sides are secure with the glass. i guess we should have thought better of putting Ghengis Khan and Atilla the Hun face to face with each other!

That's why I divide my divided tank with two dividers. I put the heater and filter between them. The Koi Maiden and many of us also do this.
Evens out the heat and flow, hard to jump, can't see through, many advantages.
