Prolonged swim bladder

My crowntail has had swim bladder for a week now. I haven't fed him in 6 days, but gave him 3 frozen blood worms yesterday on the advice of my fish place that I use. That did not make him poop and he is still stuck in the upper left corner of the tank but hanging in there. I have been doing daily water changes with 2 tsp epsom salts per gallon of water, and it's NOT working.

Is there anything else I can try to make him swim again? I have never ever had luck with this epsom salt treatment and I also feel like I need to feed him something since it's been a week now.

2 1/2 gallon tank, 79 degrees, no filtration, paramaters are all on mark.

I also wanted to ad that he looked a little better for a short time today and now, it's more of the same. I did lower the water level in his tank today to about 1/2/

That's a good sign. I've read and heard that feeding your betta tiny pieces of pea would help increase the chance of bowl movement. If there are no improvements then it could be some sort of infection then you might have to look for medications to treat him. Hope he feels better soon.
