Can I use these?

I got these at the dollar store, and the package just said clay pots. Can I use them? The hole is super small so shouldn't be any problem there.

If you make sure there are no chemicals or rough edges. It is pretty common to use flower pots.

I mean you should say something true does not help the conversation. Bioling the pots first should help. I also soak in dechloranitad tap water after before going into the tank.

I just rinse them. We also cut them (well my dad does with a tile cutter, I wouldn't dare try!) and then I sand the edges with sand paper.

Olympia, do you have pics? Cutting them in half would give me one for each boy in my divided tanks, but if these don't take up too much space, then I might leave them alone. And do you use hot water like with everything else?

Here and here are the best pics I have of the cut ones right now. They are much larger than what you have. Cutting them straight is pretty hard. I tried smashing but I was awful at it and got really useless shapes. The edges are buried in the substrate on those ones so you wouldn't even need to sand them. xD
