Talking Quick Question...

Umm... wow, I make way too many threads.

I have just a quick question about the inflamed gills disease. It's this: Do red gills mean inflamed or stress?

I'm confused because I saw very many pictures of bettas with inflamed gills, but none of them answered my question, I feel so dumb... heh. (must be cause I went random in the middle of nowhere (it's kinda like I went insane... LOL))

Gill burn, too much ammonia, making it hard to breathe too. Seems to happen when I forget to do some water changes.

Some fish have red gills making it hard to tell.. But I'd say you might be working with ammonia poisoning if you're not able to keep up on water changes.

what if there's no ammonia and not it's a fish that's not red or something? also, it's not happening to my betta, I just felt like asking a question

That first part didn't make sense, but if there was no ammonia, then it could be nitrite or nitrate, too. Or it could be flaring.... I have seen people mistake it.
