Hi everyone! I'm new to the community but certainly not new to fish, especially bettas. I'm 17 and I've been caring for fish of all types since I was 8. I currently only have two fish but they mean the world to me! They've been my best friends when I thought I was alone and they keep me company during my all nighters. c: I have a black and blue Crowntail named Kuroma and a Pink Convict Cichlid named White Lightning. They're both about 6 years old. Kuroma had awful living conditions before I brought him home. I've never seen such a sadder fish before than this little guy. His cup was so cloudy, I couldn't even tell what color he really was. All I saw was a sad face through the muck and it made me cry :c I wish chain stores like Wal Mart would just stop selling fish altogether :/ Overall, Kuroma has a laid back personality but likes to show off every once and a while. His body is black and his fins are a dark blue. White Lightning is the complete opposite. He's a ham in his own right. He'll throw gravel at the tank to get my attention and zip around through his forest of plants late at night. He was a lone Pink Convict Cichlid in a tank of Pink Gouramis. He didn't look too happy about that so I took him home. He originally had two gold mystery snails as roommates but they had to be removed due to the fact he would pick up gravel and drop it on top of them from above. Both are spoiled to the fins. They each have a 5 gallon tank filled with plants of all colors and are neighbors on my dresser. They're also picky and have become so accustomed to their food, they won't eat anything else. They get mad if you dare attempt to feed them something else lol I want to get more fish but I'm currently in school. I don't want to get fish that I can't devote my love and time to equally so I'll probably wait. Anyway, that's my story and I would to hear about your bettas/fish!! :D
