Atlas just won't eat...

I bought Atlas from Big Al's Aquarium Supercentres last May. At the time he had some faded white spots on his head that looked like a fungal infection. He was far too pretty to pass up, so I brought him home with the intent of healing him.
He's completely healthy now and has been for several months, but he has a persisting problem that he's always had. Eating.

He hardly eats if he ever does. He'll take a pellet in his mouth, chew a little, then spit it out before chasing it down as it sinks to the bottom. If he can catch it before it hits the bottom, he eats it. If he doesn't, it stays at the bottom. Other times he just ignores the food at the top of the tank.
Has anyone else had this problem before? Is there a solution? I've tried different kinds of food and there's no change.

white spots is a sign of Ick (a parasite). it might be that his bout with ick hasnt totally been cured. ick starts from the inside so it may have just been repressed for awhile and now showing itself again. you can try getting some ick medicine. it'll turn your water blue for a few days but thats normal.

good luck to u and Atlas (i like that name) and speaking of names Big Al's, we dont have those around here

Perhaps he is like my male and only prefers small pellets. If he can't eat them in one bite without spitting them out, he won't eat. So I have to put one small pellet in at a time, so they don't get soggy and large, so that he will eat.
