Betta sucked into the filter

Poor guy :( Sounds like you're doing everything right to ward off infection and make him comfortable, so he just needs to rest and heal.

CB, I clearly know how to take care of my bettas. I know extra water changes will help, I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. I'm sorry for snapping, but have you ever thought that someone might know a little more than you?

His normal tank is a fully cycled 3 gallon that gets 2 50% changes per week. If my fish are in a hospital tank they get full 100% changes daily. I will be home tomorrow to clean his tank and will continue to change it daily until he is fit to go back into the 3 gallon, if he ever is fit enough.

How long will it take for scale regrowth? I don't think his tail will ever be the same after this.

I'm not sure how long with this type of injury, but when I accidentally "clipped" Buddy when trying to cup him he lost a couple scales off the top of his head..it took about a month for them to heal/regrow.

Do you have any indian almond leave? I have a stack as wel as alder cone, I can send you some on monday...
I would leave the doseage to 2 tsp/ gallon...
make sure you have something in there to prevent fungi and bacterial infections...
methylene blue comes in handy in such situations.
