Frustrated with spawning.

When I was breeding 6 years ago it seemed so much easier. I could get almost any betta to spawn. I am now having trouble getting started again. I need advice.

I am currently attempting to spawn a sibling pair. Male is Half moon extended red and sister is red cambodian. They are getting along really well and he has a small bubble nest built. She is hanging out under the nest and he seems to come and visit check things out and goes to the other corner. This is day 2. I am turning the light off at night. She is full of eggs and definately ready.

Should I give them another day together or seperate them again?

They are from good bloodlines and I really want to get a spawn going.

Thanks. I swear years ago I could toss a pair in a tank of green water and have the biggest spawn with the lowest effort. I know once I get the first one done I will have my spawning mojo back.

How did you condition them them and what spawning method are you using.

Carol i know what you mean every time i take a year or two off, thefirst few spawns it seem wierd then they fall right in place when they dont you have back up stuff going on.
