My first betta sorority.

I wanted to try my hand at a betta sorority so I did tons of research and then decided to try it out. Currently I have 5 females in a 10 gallon with plenty of plants and caves.

It has been about a month now and I think it has been pretty successful but I have a few questions.

I have read a lot of threads about sororities and how the females have territory, but that does not seem to be the case with mine. They are always super close to each other almost acting like schooling fish during the day time. While at night they do have their own cave to go to which I guess would be their territory.

So my question, is this normal? If it isn't normal would it be good or bad? If bad how could I change anything.

mine are the same way. ive been through tons of girls and mine always seem to stick together. mine dont fight anymore and i dont really see any nips on anyone, so as long as they dont seem lethargic and they dont have any visible injuries i dont think anything is wrong.

I have noticed VTs seem to be calmest.

yeah i started with 5, then kept losing girls and now i think i finally have a good group(knock on wood). but ironically i have 2 little petsmart crowntails and 2 big halfmoon girls from my LPS. but ive had the VT's too and they always seemed to get picked on.
