Quick Q on filter

Was gonna buy a filter for my betta tank just because it has a bit of cat/dog hair in the tank floating. If I buy one for say a 5gal tank and put it in, should the flow be low enough that I will only have to baffle the outpouring of water rather than the intake as well? Is that enough to help out in my 20gal long?

maybe try an aquaclear or other adjustable filter if you can. they are a lot better for just a little more money. or a sponge filter with adjustable pump would work.
