anyone whose religious views cause harm to others (human or animal) needs a new religion. i've heard so many stories about kids who were jehova's witnesses, who died from very minor injuries or illnesses because their parents refused to get them proper treatment, catholic children whose parents force them to keep going to the same church where the priest molested them, little muslim boys being given ak-47s and being told to kill for allah. it's sick, and it needs to stop. if "your god" tells you to harm those in your care, you need a new god, or to just stop listening to the one you've got.

in nature fish eat when ever they can, because they do not know when their next meal would be...
they could find a lot of food one day and nothing the next. it is a survival mechnism for fish to eat as much as they can. however, in the home aquaria, where food is readily available, this survival mechanism works against them. They will eat unil they drop, literally

the betta fish is not an eat poop eat poop fish ( if you've seen goldfish u'll know what I mean) their metabolism works slower and thus they should be fed less to prevent constipation and future problems stemming feom overfeeding
i hope whatever you believe in is againt haming animals too... because feeding too much is just that
