Amano shrimp

So here's the deal: I have 2 five gallon tanks in my house's sunroom, and, as you can expect....it's very sunny...IE my tanks tend to go a little crazy with algae if I don't clean them regularly.

(And no, moving them is not an option so we can rule that out altogether.)

I'm thinking of getting a few amano shrimp, because they're a little larger than cherry shrimp & they seem to be better algae eaters. But I haven't been seeing much about min. tank size for them.

The package I'm looking at is 5 amano shrimp, so would 2 shrimp per 5 gallon tank be ok?

Amano shrimp are pretty big. I would say no. As algae eaters they need more room together algae that grows I would say one or two would be okay.

amano shrimp aren't that big. At least the ones I've seen. They get an inch at most, and aren't quite the size of a ghost shrimp.

I say 1 to 1.5 inches is big. Also they ear algae so too many will outcompete each other. They are native to Asia mainly Japan.

I haven't seen one irl but the sites I've been looking at say they're about 1-2".
