I have a new boy who has been
acting healthy (eating, swimming actively). Last night I fed him and after, noticed that his
belly was protruding, and figured I had fed him too much. It looked
whitish in color, too (he has a very dark colored body so I could tell). The protruding has gone down (I didn't feed him today), but it still appears white.
Also, I was looking closely at him under a light, and he has some
"rust dustings" on top of his head and the top of his
eyes. It reminded me of rust so I googled "betta rust" and sure enough, Velvet popped up (I had only ever heard of Velvet appearing as gold dustings).
I will post photos very soon. It is hard for me to tell with new bettas if they have something wrong with them, or if it just how they naturally look.
Thank you for your help!!
