Does anyone use bubblers?

I have an aquarium decoration that is a clam that opens and closes to let bubbles out when attached to an air pump. I'm thinking of putting this in my 3 gallon, but I wanted to get opinions on bubblers for bettas. Does anyone use them in their tanks?

Bettas don't really need aeration since they hardly take oxygen from the water.. And it will produce a pretty strong current. But if you get an air valve, you can control the flow and it won't be as strong.. I use an aerator and the tubing but it's because I use a sponge filter... My tank is cycled and aerated because of it.. LOL

Bettas don't really need them as they do not extract oxygen from the air. I personally don't like them because air pumps are noisy and the one I had blew my fish around my tank.

I only have them in my 120 (no bettas) and my 30 because there are some tetras along with my female bettas. I don't worry about air in a tank with only a betta in it.

I wanna know this too, my betta loves chasing things, especially bubbles!! XD

I had air bubbles in my 2g with Lakitu and he bit off his tail because the water current was disrupted. Bettas prefer still calm water.

My tank has a bubbler mainly because the light in it is also an air stone, the way it came. And I think as long has you are able to make the bubbles minimal your beta will like it, I know mine has actually chased some of the bubbles, pretty fun to watch

I use the bubblers, but you should use a check valve for the flow control, if it is too rough, they might get stressed, but I prefer that over the current of a filter sometimes, you can adjust it easier, I have one in each of my 3 gal tanks, and the fishy's don't mind at all, in fact one of my fish, when I have to shut it off, he stays at the bottom more, and when I turn it on, he goes right to the top and watches them..lol..it is soo cute:) Some fish don't like it tho, so just try and see how your fishy reacts..

I use them in my sponge filters :) I keep a check valve on the though so I can control the flow.

I have a small one in my 3 gallon tank (it came in the box). I have a control valve so there are only two streams of bubbles. Leo loves it and is depressed whenever it is turned off (only when I am changing the water). It also has a couple of LED lights on it that change colors and he can't get enough of it- makes a pretty decent night light lol
