Some say they work like a charm, others say they are horrible! Personally i wouldn't recommend them. They are cheap quality food, and most bettas or any fish for that matter, wouldn't even consider eating them.

They work really well if your goal is to kill your fish.

Seriously though, never buy them. A betta fish can go a few weeks without food, making these feeders irrelevant and dangerous. Betta fish will eat even after they are not hungry any more, resulting many fish having exploded stomachs by the time their owners come home due to these things.

They can go more than six days without eating, so there's not much point to them. I used one once, when I was new to keeping fish and didn't know better, and it didn't seem to do any harm, but they're not really good for the fish.

It's much better to just not feed them.. especially if you'll be away.

Dumping a huge amount of food (in any form) into your tank is a bad idea at any time.. but it's a recipe for certain death if your tank can't handle the amount of ammonia produced by the food after it starts to rot after a day or so (and it will).

The blocks are usless. They will cloud your tank water and clog your filter. If you are going away for less then a week its better to just go without feeding your betta.
