wow hes gorgeous, wish i could find a black betta!. The tank is awesome. I liked the before but the after is really nice. I'm sure he will appreciate the added live plants

Thank you! He is a halfmoon male from Petco, actually.

I like to put my finger up to the side of their cups to see their reaction, and he was extremely aggressive, snapping and flaring. It's so much more entertaining to see them swim and interact with things (especially his food) when they are abit angrier. He headbutts his tank when there is a mirror, so he got his mirror privileges taken away :(
You can see in this next picture that through light, he is black with strips of blue and black spots.
