Veiltails are lovely. :]

Some of you may remember the couple I "rescued" just a short while ago from an owner who no longer wanted them. One of them was a male veiltail. If we don't count the veiltail I had when I was very young, and died quickly, then he's my first veiltail. I had no idea how beautiful they were! Maybe it's just him, but his anal and dorsal fins are almost perfectly symmetrical, it's gorgeous! I caught him flaring at his reflection in his tank just now (the first time I've seen him do it since I got him) and I tried to take a picture, but he saw me and immediately went and hid. :/ I guess he's more happy in his own little fish world without the interference of an annoying picture taking giant hand. :P

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore veiltails now. :]

yes they are BUT im not in favor of them my first betta was a veiltail and all that he gave me was problems i loved him it tears me up that i had to get rid of him now i have a beautiful halfmoon plakat green masked dragon ps. one more thing his name was bluff and i did not kill him i donated him to the local pet shop were heal will be cared for.

I have a few veiltail females, but this is my first male. I should have mentioned that in the original post, lol.

i loove veil tails. most of my girls and 3/4 boys are VT. Roxas has amazing finnage, and Swish and Reuban both are close seconds

I love VT's too. Both my VT's chewed their fins; Lakitu never let his heal ever but Ludendorff did- the color just never came back. The only long finned variety I will get is VT- halfmoons and other heavier ones freak me out in a way because they're too delicate. lol

My first rescue is a veiltail, she was a baby I got from petco and was the only one of four babies there that survived. Now she's a hyper healthy little teen fish growing her lovely colors. I would love to get a mail veiltail someday too. I use to love them the most but lately the halfmoon bug has bitten me.

I love my silly little Malcom. Every time I walk into the room and look in his tank he immediately swims to the front, flares at me, then starts dancing for food. He's hilarious! I went into the store knowing I didn't want a veil tail because there are so many of them and they're what most people would buy, but once I saw him I just knew that he was the fish for me.

I have never had a veil tail, howeverr my girlfriend's little brother does have one, he was tail biting, and i have been trying to help with showing him the best ways to care for the fish and give proper care.
