Oh, and when they mean "Additives put into the water" in the sickness question list, it just means what you put into the water such as conditioner, stress coat, etc.
Ihave her in a .50 gallon QT but with the same wter, Im doing partial water change, But i dont have any conditioner left, I got some Pure salt in there, but do I still have to let it sit before i add it to her tank?
No more conditioner..? Ay... Can't you go to the store ASAP?! She's really sick.. And when you mean by "Pure" Salt, is that table salt..? It's not the same. Oh, and letting the water sit doesn't really do anything. It has no point. :o Just do a 100% change right now and put in tank water instead. Can't use your water without conditioner if it's tap.
Okay, and The nearest petstopre is 2 hours away and im not exactly rich :/ Im going tomorrow to pick up stuff Like my male, my filter mor conditiner, etc, will she survive till tomorrow?
Hi Kira and Cleoh. Wow, yes, it looks like your girl has a pretty bad popeye infection. It's possible she injured her eye and it became quite infected. I would go ahead and get her into epsom salts, 3 tsps per gallon. You'll also want to pick up some water conditioner ASAP, like Seachem Prime. That's probably the best water conditioner out there. The reason you need the water conditioner is because you'll have to take the pure salts out. You can't mix regular salt and epsom salts together and in this case, the regular salts will only cause the swelling in the eye to get worse.
Indian Almond Leaf would be helpful too, or if you can't get a hold of that you can use naturally dried oak leaves. Just crumble the leaf into the water until it turns a dark tea color.
As long as your girl isn't laying on the bottom of the tank gasping, she should be okay till tomorrow.
