please help! first rescue, sevre condition!

I went to walmart and saw a very pitiful betta. He has swim bladder bloat and i think fin rot or torn fins. I havr him in a 5gallon currently with some stress coat and aq salt. He is a veiltail, but very malnurished his scales are a dull gray, and u can tell he was once blue. I named him crush because while we walked out of walmart my mom stopped at a soda machine and we got two crushes out of it! So i thought since we were lucky then maybe namin him crush will give em some luck. So please let me know if im doing the right thing and whatever elsr i need to do. Ill keep yall updated and post a pic later

Bloated... Gray... Is his scales popping out at all..? Might be the start of an internal breakdown of fluids. (AKA Dropsy)
Aquarium Salt will really help with his external issues, but internal issues come first. Get some Epsom Salt and do the treatment involving it. Do 100% daily water changes and then add in dissolved ES with the new treated water... Add in some IAL or washed dried oak leaves to provide beneficial tannins... Keep the water extra clean, good luck!

Thanks! So he doesnt have dropsy, or least not yet. And where can i find epsom salt? Petstores, or walmart? Update: crush is actually doing better! Hes starting to swim around, but because of his swim bladder he keeps floating to the top. I think he might makeit! Hes a fighter! Hes super shy and is afraid of the camera, so i had to wait for him to settle and float to the top. Presenting crush: sorry the pic is sideways from my ipad

Ok so i heard you can get epsom salts at any pharmacy. So im going to talk my mom into getting some! And when i add it, do i have to do a complete water change first or can it be used with aq salt?

You can get Epsom salt, any Pharmacy, or Food supermarket, and you would need to change water every day, and use 1tsp per gallon and best not to use Epsom, and AQ together, if bloated, use for 3-5 days to see if any improvement, if not use 2tsp..Hope all works well for your rescue, Good luck, keep us posted:)

Also you would want to keep him in a Hospital tank, under the 5 gallons for ease of water changes, a Kritter keeper 1.75 gal is best for this.

Yea, i figured i would need a smaller tank, but i couldnt afford it! I spent all my allowence on a new heater and some stress coat, and him! So i didnt have enough left to buy a big critter keeper! Oh well:( ill try the epsom salt thing within the next few days (if he makes it) i have to do some more chores to earn some more money for him, and are there any other ways to treat bloat? Im not going to ne home tomorrow and im scared to leave him till wednesday without treatment for it!
