So I've had Banana for a week now and I noticed that he seems to breathe differently from my other bettas. Instead of the subtle movement of his gills, they move higher to the point where you can't determine if he's breathing heavily or if it's just normal. Also, his face has a very pale/pink face. I believe he's either a pineapple or chocolate betta, so I don't think the pink face is part of what his coloring should be.
He has had the pink on his face and has been breathing that way since I brought him home and took him out of the small jar he was in.
I've also noticed that on his caudal fin, there is a black edge at the very edge, but it surrounds the only clear part of his fin, so does that mean its possible he's getting fin rot over a healing area? He had no fin damage when I got him, only jsut very clamped ones.
(this pic is from when I got him)
Here you can see the pink that I was talking about.
He's currently in the 10 gallon divided with Squirt. He was originally in a .5 Kritter Keeper before he unclamped, and then put in a 1.75 Kritter Keeper for a few days.
