Probably not. You want to shot for a kelvin rating of between 5000k and 7000k. Petco carries Zoo Med Ultra Sun which have a kelvin rating of 6500k. I use those on my tanks and have great plant growth (balanced with ferts of course).

Thank you so much! I have a community tank full of plants and I was worried that the old aquarium florescent bulb wouldn't give them enough light. I have no idea what kind of this bulb was.
