My friend Nell is a betta breeder, but is starting to cut back on how many fish she has to lessen her workload now that high school is getting to her :P But, for my birthday, she gave me her favorite breeder pair - halfmoon siblings named Gypsy (who she actually called Swag so much, that it's kind of sticking :P) and Starbucks. These two are absolutely gorgeous, have adorable personalities, are proven parents, and best of all they're purple. <33 Not talking like a 'lightish blue with red wash' kind of purple either - they're actually white dragon scales with a sort of pinkish-periwinkle-lavendery (amazing color description, right? /brick) iridescence on their scales that, when the lights in their tanks aren't on, looks a dark plum color. It's so pretty <3 And their fins are red, with Swag having a butterfly pattern.
I seriously wish I could get photos of these guys...unfortunately, my camera (or should I say 'cell phone' :P) is broken, and probably wouldn't do them much justice. Also not entirely sure if I want to breed them or not, although if I do I'll probably have to wait 'till summer when I have more time.
Anyways, my two favorite things in the worlds next to animals: birthdays and the friends who come to them. :P
