Hey all! I've been reading the forum for about a month now and finally got enough time to stop by and introduce myself. I've had bettas for several years now (probably 10+). They've always been of the wal-mart/pet store back ground. Your typical veil tails and crown tails.
I've currently got 2 Wal-mart boys. A gorgeous steel blue / black head veil tail. He's got a tiny tiny touch of red in his tail. His most interesting feature is he has 2 blue eyes. (Not sure if that's unique or not, but I've never noticed it in my other bettas. I've also got a stunning (for a WM fish) turquoise and black crown tail. He looks like he's got a metallic green wash over his fins when he's in sunlight, but under normal lighting, he's turquoise. Hopefully I'll have some decent pictures of them soon. I also went to a LFS today to pick up some Prime and betta pellets. I noticed a gorgeous cellophane (I think I have that right. He's a pearly white color with a blue/green metallic wash but no actual color on fins) male rose tail. He has severe tail rot and over half of his tail is missing. I'm hoping to be able to go back in the next couple days and save him. I can't believe my WM fish are/were in better shape than the pet store fish, but it doesn't say much for the pet store.
