Lately, I've been noticing that the base of my female CT's tail is loosing color. It just seems to be getting see-through right where the tail comes out from her body. She lives in a 1.5 gallon tank that is filtered, but I will be upgrading her to a 5 gallon soon. I do a 50% water change and vacuum the gravel every week.
I recently added some ammo chips to my betta's filter to help with the ammonia once I noticed her tail was looking bad. My tap water has 1ppm ammonia in it, so I know the ammonia in my betta's tank is pretty high. Do you think the color loss in her tail is a sign of sickness such as fin rot? Should I do anything about it, or should I just wait and see how it goes?
