Angry Leak!!!!

My 20 gal. "Diva" tank developed a leak this afternoon!!!! What a job cleaning THAT up!

The question is, however, I had to put my 9 girls in my 38 gal. community tank with some angels, swords & platys. Think they will be ok in there? So far they are. Have lots of plants (real & not) and hidey holes and moved their stuff into the tank. Lots of filtration on that tank as well.

Grrrrrr.................

I'm sorry about the leak - that would be terrible to deal with. How did it happen?

I don't know about the behaviors of the fish you've moved the sorority in with, but I do know that the sudden addition to the tank may throw off your cycle. Be sure to keep a close eye on the parameters to catch any spikes.

As for the leak itself, I'd suggest buying some aquarium sealant as soon as possible to take care of it, assuming the crack isn't too big or widespread. Just make sure that you let the sealant sit for 24 hours before refilling the tank with water to avoid any sort of contamination.

Small update. So far so good with the girls in the community tank. Added more live plants (and have a couple more coming this week), added a third filter with cycled sponges from my 75 gal. (I always keep extras in there) and did a water change this morning even though I just did one 3 days ago.

The 20 gal. has a crack on the back panel down low. Don't know why or how it got there, but I'm not going to try to fix it - out it goes!!!

Like I said, so far, so good - hope it stays that way!!!!
