Kritter Keepers questions and more!

I've seen much talk about these magical Kritter Keepers, but I'd like to find out more about them. Where can you buy them? How many gallons are they? Can you put in heaters? I have a large 10 gallon that I want to split between my boys (2 boys, and I have 1 girl as well :) ) but it might be to much work to buy a large heater and a filter for it. So I was thinking of little tanks. (Unless someone had inexpensive but working heater and filter suggestions from Petsmart or Petco. ) Also I need a nice adjustable heater under 30$ for a 2.5 gallon, from Petsmart or Petco.
