So I was picking up a Spec 2 for mom's new betta half-moon, which will arrive Monday.
I saw a college kid with muck boots on looking at veil tails. I pointed her toward the lovely new halfmoons, and helped her pick out a cellophane one with pink iridescence, a bottle of Prime and a small heater by Zoo Med.
She was surprised when I told her that bettas can live for 8 years, and that my previous set had lived for 5.
She had only changed water every three weeks. Eeeek!
I suggested she buy a turkey baster and vacuum poop daily and water change weekly! And join bettafish.com
Then she followed me home and I gifted her new fish and her other fish (a small red betta that a friend gave her) with:
2 tbsps of NLSpectrum TheraA pellets
And 2-4 of each of these:
dwarf water lettuce
Salvinia
Anachris stems
Broadleaf water wisteria
