New betta and new member

Hello, I'm new to this forum. Please be gentle XD

Since I also have a question about my new betta, I thought I could just combine the picture and the introduction in this post.
Anywas, my name is Renate and I'm from Norway.
I bought my first betta because I lived in an appartment where pets were not allowed. At first it was only to have another living creature nearby, so boring living alone. But when he got home with me, I fell in love with bettas.
My first betta was a red and white crowntail called Murdy.
He is dead now :( rest in peace.

Anyways!! :)
I got a new betta today from a local pet store. He looked a bit pale and tired (and so on)and his fins were nipped at.

I don't know why, but something inside me just told me to get this betta.

But could someone please tell me what kind of betta he might be? He looks kind of light blue, sometimes with a tiny bit green/turquoise shine to him. And his fins looks light pink. Not sure about tailtype either, since it's nipped. He does not look like a halfmoon, but he doesn't look like a veil either.
But I guess now that he got his own home, he will change over time, but was curious to see what you thought :)
Sorry about the bad quality mobile photos, they also mess up the colors a little -.-'
(He's flaring a little in the last picture to the right)

R.i.p Murdy. I love crowntails.

I would say your other betta looks a bit like a delta tail, The photos are hard to go by, but the first and last resembles a delta tail a bit. Try getting a photo of him flaring. Always easier to work out.

Welcome to the forum!! :)

Goodness, wherever you get your bettas from has got an awesome selection! Both of those boys were(RIP little Murdy)/are absolutely stunning!

Color-wise, your new boy looks like hes got some dragon scaling going on....and he may be an MG(Mustard Gas). Hard to say about the MG though, his fins may be a tad on the orange side and the blue may be a little light.....

Its a tad hard to see, but tail-type wise it almost looks like he spreads out into a full 180 degree HM spread in that last picture. o:

Thanks. :)

Yeah, I know the pictures are bad, but I only have my phone camera. And it's bad light here and not a good tank to take pictures.
But I will try again :) Maybe tomorrow. Let him relax more in his new home before another try.

Flame names. Hmmm.. Not a bad idea. I'll be thinking about that.

I'm not sure about the MG either, since it looks kind of light pink with an orange tint to it (not easily seen in the picture). But that might change. Can't wait for the rest of his tail to grow back :)
Mystery fish. XD
