Need to Rehome

Due to several factors--work, money, space, and a move that will be taking place in the next few months--I have come to need to rehome three of my Bettas. (The move would be from NY to FL in winter and I'm not confident I could get all of my scalekids there alive.)

Milton, a Red VT, who I brought home with virtually no fins but they've grown in beautifully; Harville, a Cambodian VT female; and Michael, a HMDT. Their pictures are attached.

I am willing to drive up to 2 hours in any direction of my home (zipcode 12563) or I could potentially ship.

Thank you for the help, guys. This was very sudden and after exploring multiple avenues, this is the best option for them though it breaks my heart to do this.

I can probably take in one more temporary inhabitant in about 3 weeks. the Vts will be hard to rehome. but I bet someone will snatch up the HMDT in no time. Are you driving to florida or taking a plane? you can take fishies on the plane. (just hide it from airline staff so you dont get slapped with a fee. have them in your carry on bag or somethig. they should survive fine.

I got the supplies to ship last night--heat packs and the bags recommended in the how to ship thread--so as nervous as it makes me, I can send them in the mail to their new homes.

If no one claims her in my area, RedRaz, I'd love to send her to you.

aokashi, unfortunately, I'll be driving non-stop straight to the apartment my parents are letting me use. I'd hoped to fly, but I have 2 cats as well and it's cheaper and easier to load everyone up in the car. If you end up being able to take on one of them, I'd be eternally grateful, but I understand if not.

It will be easier for you to take them on your car... than to ship. bettas are tough little things. pack them as you would do when shipping them (very little water heat packs. etc.) If you pack them in a cooler box(picnic box? one of those insulated ones) with more insulation and a heat pack. they should get there just fine.

I wish I were closer your way, or else I would take one. I'm about 4 hours away from there and I don't trust having fish sent to campus. I hope you find good homes because the guy in the bottom pic is gorgeous!
