This is Mufasa, we've had him for about 4 months from walmart. and I was a bad betta mom before, but I found this forum and learned a lot! I'm not sure what his color is because I've never seen it before! He loves to eat everything except brine shrimp. He spits it out like a spoiled brat!! He says Hi when I come home and keeps me company when I'm in the kitchen.

1.5 gallon, no filter, no heater, crappy food, water changes every 2 weeks


10 Gallon, heater, filter, NLS pellets, bloodworms, water changes weekly


He is so freakin cute!!!!



Here is Zorro, he was my second betta. He was lucky that I learned how to properly care for a betta! He looks like he has a mask lol. He loves to sit by the couch with me and stare and follow my finger. He will jump for food!

We are dealing with his fin blowouts from flaring too much I don't mind it though as long as he is healthy. He is still beautiful

This is Art, I found him at petsmart bored and lonely about a week ago. He is a Dragonscale and he is beautiful! I couldn't just let him sit there forever!! He eats a litte more than the others because he is bigger. He loves pellets and bloodworms. He loves attention and does not like to hide much



He is pretty protective of his home now.



Who wouldn't love this face with those eyes!!!



This is Lucy, I got her from petsmart on 10/17/2012. I had seen here there a few times and decided it was time to bring her home. She has inflamed red gills due to ammonia in her cup being at .8 you can see her left gill is sticking out a bit and isn't able to close. She is in treatment now and is doing better. Let's hope she pulls through! She likes to hang out by her heater and she will explore a little. She does have an appetite! Go Lucy!!


Here is a pretty cool picture of me hand feeding Zorro. I do this with Mufasa too, but haven't yet tried it with Art or lucy since they are still adjusting. I was so terrified at first that it would hurt but it just feels weird. lol


Ok I'm done bragging about my babies! I love these bettas so much! I am fascinated by these fish and how they thrive under appropriate conditions. Each of them has their own personality. Unfortunately, my boyfriend will not let me have anymore Wait till he sees whats on my Christmas list!! a King betta!! hehehe. .

I was surprised how much these things can impact a betta! I'm super happy everyone is settled and doing well (besides Lucy).

Thank you guys! I wish I would have found this forum sooner! Mufasa is super happy. I will be re decorating his home soon just to spice things up! He is going to freak!! LOL. Zorro's home will be re decorated too since he has the flaring problem! My boyfriend and family are all shocked by Mufasa's transformation! It is really an eye opener! I'm currently trying to rescue a betta from my boyfriend's work who is in the vase type setting! Cross your fingers they give him to me soon!!
