Wink myHomie

Home was half dead when my son stopped a little girl from shaking the little dish he was shipped in to Wal-Mart. I immediately warned all my kids that the fish prob.wouldn't survive the nite. I went to pet smart and got everything I needed to give this little blue fish a fighting chance, when we transferred him into the tank he sank quickly to the bottom. I laid the kids down, all prayed for the fish. I sat up most of the night talking to the fish with my hand on the tank, that's when it happened, he swam right up to my hand and I said oh, hey Home, he had a name, and six years later he's still my #1 Home, always excitedly wiggling at the front of the tank whenever he hears my voice.

That has to be the most exciting story that i have heard. And six years is a long time for a betta.

Inspiring story, I swear Betta fish are one of the most intelligent and social fishes. They always come up to you and stare at you through the glass like, "Hey, sup?" Its so awesome. Hope to see you around the forum!

Thank you all for your responses, its so cool to talk to others who get my obsession with my fish, and don't think I'm crazy for saying my fish knows my voice, or my fish gets excited when he sees me lol God bless you all and your fishes.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. The image of you staying up all night with your fish and his responding to you is inspiring and heartwarming.
