Well, that's a good question I would think daily & multiple times but I could be wrong. It would also depend on diet, how often its eating, health, etc. I know I see lots of little poops in my bare bottomed QT tank currently housing 4 females. I rarely actually see any of my Bettas pooing, I just see the aftermath.

Well when I did my weekly water change today I only counted two poops but my betta isn't bloated or anything and the poop was the right color...

I wouldn't worry about it then. So long as he's acting & looks normal.

I think pooping for bettas is similar to humans. Whatever is normal for them, every fish is different. Depends on the activity level, health, what kind of food, things like that.

As long as he's looking good then there really is no need to worry. But if things start to slow down, try an Epsom Salt treatment. :)

As mentioned before, every betta is different. Quality of food makes a big difference- the higher the quality the more the fish uses the nutrition and less it poops.. the more "filler" and cheap the product, the more waste it creates. Also depends on how much it is being fed and how often.
So basically, a lot of factors involved lol.. not a simple answer!
