Betta Getting Black Patches

Hi,
Just wondering why my betta is getting dark patches in-between the scales. Is it anything to worry about or just a colour change. It is not as bad on the other side.

I ahve bettas do it, it gets worse in drity water for some reason, ut that might just be me, here fill this out.

It looks fine to me, sometimes bettas change colors over time. And solid colored bettas can darken or lighten. As for his food, I would feed him a high protein betta pellet (like omega one buffet or aqueon) as its formulated better for bettas :)

I agree with everyone else, he looks fine :)
Flake, my red Betta was one solid color for months & months & only in the last couple of weeks has he started to get a little bit of blue on his scales & in his tail which is exciting!

It can mean high ammonia. Thats what has caused it in the past, do more water changes and see if that helps

Mine has black spots in between his blue scales. I just got him so I was actually wondering if they would go away now that he's in a bigger bowl with a heater

Two of my red bettas also have that; except it's throughout the whole body. It's their normal coloring, a bit like pineapple on yellow. If you google red bettas, a few red bettas with black netting will pop up.
