Heater help!!!

I bought an aqueon 10 watt heater for my unfiltered 3 gallon..someone told me it would not heat up enough for that size if tank..ok..so it took for ever to heat..i even thought it was not working..so i wake up this morning to find that the temperature is 95..its not adjustable..should i take it out immidiatly? Or will i stress Patrick..his temperature is usually 80 82 without the heater..what should i do? Some advice please,!!

YIKES! 95 and hes still alive? thats one tough fishie...take it out! if your water stays at 80-82 then leave him be until u can get an adjustable heater. well atleast thats what I would do...im using a 9w reptile pad under my 2g tank and it keeps it right at 80 steady, day in and day out. but Im waiting on my 25w adjustable one to get here so my poor box turtle can have his mat back lol

Yup, I am going thru the same thing..those heaters are completley unreliable..mine went to 85 and I got nervous..so I would say return it, and opt for a preset 78 degree Tetra heater, or an adjustable one..I am so surprized that a 10watt can do this..mine is in the Aqueon Mini Bow 2.5 gal, and I shut mine off too..
