I can agree with you because I know you, and know you don't mean any harm :)
but you can say it this way: " you should always do water changes because it is good for the fish" :D that will sound better :P
I'll let you in on a secret of mine.
I had a highly planted 3gallon jar I was experimenting on. I never did a water change on this jar because I was testing out a sustainable system. And it worked! :D it went through 6 months of no water change, housed 5 healthy feeder minnows( which I later returned to the petshop), 2 generations of H formosas, 5 cherry shrimps and many many snails.
Ofcourse this was simple an experiment and because I did something similar before, I knew what I was doing and that nothing will die.
I will never ever recommend to someone to not do water changes.
