confused ????

help have 5 gal. tank. now housing 2- 5 week old swordtail fry. want to know what i can put in tank that will not eat fry. was thinking about getting a betta. but not sure? have empty 10 gal. qt tank. that needs to be kept alive what should i do?

If the fry can fit into a betta's mouth, rest assured they will have themselves a little snack.

Yes a betta will eat it, the only things that wont are one snail or a few shrimp. Otherwise those fry will be some tasty betta treats for sure.

if i put fry in 10 gal. tank, could i get a betta fish? i am hooked on getting a betta. that is only reason i went out & got 5 gal. tank for fry. DON"T tell hubby.

have 50 watt pre set 78 degree submersible tetra heater.
aqua tech 5/15 hob filter
can i get 2 or more females? or just 1 male

You can get two females, BUT they will have to be split...if you want to keep females together in a group, you'll need at least 10 gallons and 4+ females. Females can be just as aggressive as males and two will probably pick at each other constantly if housed together.

2 females can go in a 10 gal, but again, you have to split them...you could split two bettas in the 5 gal too, since 2.5 gal is the general minimum for them.
