I'm glad to hear that. You will definitely see a difference in the activity level of your fish when you put her in a larger tank. Make sure you get a heater, too. Preferably an adjustable one because the non-adjustable ones can overheat the water too easily.

Lucky bamboos help soak up ammonia? I thought about putting one in my tank but I heard the leaves could kill the fish if they drop into the water. Although I've never actually had the leaves fall off of any of my bamboo that I had in the past outside of tanks...

As far as I know, the leaves of the plant will die if they are underwater, but I don't think they will kill your fish.

I keep a lucky bamboo in two of my tanks. they've grown quite a bit :) and their leaves certainly should not fall off...
