King Betta

How can you tell if a betta is a king betta? My rescue the more I look at him the larger he seems. He's at least twice the size of Aquarius in body size though his tail is mostly eaten by fin rot. So how can you tell if a betta is a king because I have a good feeling Hollow my rescue might be a king. He's bathing in some clean water with a red teabag to sooth him a little, also added some stress coat. If his fin rot doesn't clear soon I'll treat with salt but I think clean water should take care of this because I already see new growth on his tail. But yeah, I would love to know, what is the average size of a king so I can attempt to measure him.

I think they can get up to four inches or so.

He's a little over 2 inches and with some of his tail missing.

is his body particularly thick? if you posted a side-by-side of him and a regularly sized betta we could tell you if he's got any giant genetics.

Just curious, how large does a female king betta get?

i know that my cousin has a king betta, and he is 3.50 inches long! i don't know the minnimum king size but i know that your rescue is big in it's own right! good luck healing him!

He actually is fairly thick as well. I'll try to get a pic of him and Aquarius side by side.

They are probably up to 3-4 inches long. It's hard to find information on that but my females don't get up to 4 inches. I am sure a female king betta would be clearly bigger than a regular one like a male king.

Ok, that's interesting. The fish I have is about 2 1/2 inches long, and so far the behavior and physical features are telling me she's a female. She's only about 7 or 8 months old at the most. I'm waiting for her fins to fully heal from her jump about a month ago before I get some more pictures posted of her, but she's the fish in my profile. I personally think that's kind of big for a regular female, but I really don't know all that much about how big betta's can get. I was suspecting that she was a plakat female, but I really don't know...
