12" Strip Light

Just a quick question - does anyone have recommendations for a bulb for a 12" strip light (fits 2.5G rectangle aquariums). A normal spiral CFL doesn't fit since it is designed for a 15w incandescent tube light.

I was thinking about trying a coralife colormax mini cfl, but I wanted to see what other people thought.

can you post a picture with the original bulb in it? There is no telling what yo umean by strip light. Or do you mean the T8?

I don't have a bulb for it right now, but it takes one of these tubular screw incandescent bulbs.

Your best bet would be to just buy the Corallife light. Those usually suck when it comes to lightbulbs.

You can find the lights you're looking for at just about any store with home supplies, such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. When we need new bulbs we always take the old one with us. That way we get the correct ones.

I bought my old strip light from amazon. and that light took normal bulbs

It looks like a compact fluorescent would fit in that. I got the one on my little tank, 6500K, warm white (ick) from the dollar store. If you aren't cheap though you could get a cool white one and it would look better.

Edit: and by not cheap I mean willing to spend maybe $3 instead of only $1. Haha
